How long does it take for a lemon to grow?

I am sorry that I don't know how long a tree matures from seed until it fruits, but guessing about 3 years. However, the trees are promiscuous, that is the seed won't necessary be the same as the tree it came from. In fact, that is how you get tangelos and all kinds of hybrid citrus mixes. The flowers will accept all kinds of different citrus pollen. I can almost guarantee the tree that grows from your seed won't be the same as the parent and might even be part lime or somesuch. That is why all citrus you buy at a nursery is grafted: you know exactly what you are getting. Also, most citrus growers I know recommend not allowing your newly planted citrus to fruit for 2-3 seasons and to pluck off all the flowers so all the energy goes into developing good strong form and roots. Hi, I recently planted 8 lemons and after 4-7 years it bears fruit, although, 2 lemon trees didn't bear fruit, so what I'm trying to say is that if you grow them in loads of light it will bear fruit and it doesn't need that much heat 'cause their min temperature is 0-1 C!

It takes about 3-4 months. First, the tree flowers and then from the flowers the fruit grows.
