The master's degree can take approximately two to three years to complete post bachelor's degree. The actual length of time depends on the specific program of study; the credit load carried per semester, and provided the student takes the degree as prescribed by the college or university.

In the great majority of master's programs, if you go full time, it takes a year.

A bit more:

It may depend on the school and how many hours (credits) you already have, because many schools require an additional two years for a masters degree.

Answer 1: A bachelors degree is a four-year degree containing 120 semester credit hours. An associates degree is a two-year degree containing 60 semester credit hours. Someone with an associates degree, then, would need to go to school for two more years, and earn an additional 60 semester credit hours in order to earn a bachelors.

Sadly, though, it might not be quite as easy as all that. If the institution that awards the bachelors degree decides that something is missing from the associates degree, then some additional coursework, too make-up for whatever the associates degree lacks, might be required. Most bachelors programs don't require so much that it will add another year or anything like that; but it's entirely possible that an entire summer session's worth of additional courses may be necessary. With any luck, though, the entirety of the associates degree will count as the entire first two years of the bachelors degree, and so, therefore, an additional two years is all it will take to earn the bachelors.

If you have an associate's degree in child psychology can you be successful?

I have never seen or heard of an associates degree in child psychology. Typically, a professional psychologist requires a minimum of a masters degree, with most meaningful therapeutic ability and research at the doctorate level. You can start at an associates level of course. However, if you plan on being successful in terms of career potential in this field, think higher degrees.I have never seen or heard of an associates degree in child psychology. What is the maximum number of years I have from after I receive my bachelor's degree until I begin a masters program?

Typically, there is no standard. After finishing a bachelors, and started my masters almost 19 years later. My bachelors is in psychology, and my masters is in organizational management. I do not recommend waiting that long. If you have the opportunity, start you masters as soon as you can. Once you stop going to school, it's very difficult getting back.
