to the best of my knowledge, arthritis is a symptom of a disease process. curing the disease, normally eliminates the Arthritis. some diseases are known to cause arthritis, and some are not yet known. detecting the causative disease is an ongoing science, and is extremely difficult. if no disease is acquired, there is no arthritis; if an arthritis causing disease is acquired, arthritis can develop. "arthritis" is a much debated subject, so this opinion is not "exact science".

It is at this point not yet understood what precisely causes most forms of arthritis. However. Treatments are being developed that help control the pain damage and deformity involved with these diseases.

A person can be suffering from arthritis the day they are born In many cases arthritis comes with the wear and tearr of age and traumatic damage. However there are forms of arthritis that where inflamation is the result of problems with the imune system. these conditions can hit even very young children. I for example showed symptoms before I was 7 years old.

The amount of time it takes for a person to get arthritis if it appears at all. would depend on the type of arthritis. for example some people have a genetic leaning towards osteoarthritis which is a non inflammatory form of the disease usually the result of wear and tear, this generally does not start to appear until a person is in their 30's or older. another form of osteoarthritis can be caused by joint damage like breaks and other forms of trauma. Then there are the inflammatory forms of arthritis like rheumatoid arthritis and these can come on at any age favouring women at a rate of 2 to1. arthritis gets its name because of its effect on joints however the harm does by the more then 100 forms of arthritis affects many other parts of the body and its organs.
