Lucy, the oldest humanoid fossil, is about three million years old. If you want to get technical, Homo sapiens sapiens (our species) are about 200,000 years old.

Humans have been around for an insignificant and short amount of time. If the lifetime of the Earth was compacted into a single day, the human era would be five minutes til midnight.

Well, this is just an evolutionist's view. Creationists agree that the whole universe is around 14 billion years old. Everyone is torn between two things, but some creationists believe that the earth is about 8000 years old. Humans are, and always were, humans, and never humanoids or apes. It is too complicated and almost impossible for each specific organism, let alone humans, to be created by random chance out of nowhere. But nothing is impossible with God. It makes more sense, to me, anyway, to rely on religion and science, instead of just science. More on that later.

God started creating things about 8000 years ago, starting with light on the first day. On the sixth day of his creation, five days after light, he created humans, along with all land creatures. But we are special, in his image, and not in the image of apes.

Theologians and experts believe that the events of Genesis, or the creation of the world, took place a while before 6000 BC. The translation from the Hebrew word, "yom" is day, a 24-hour, simple day, showing how it only took one day, not millions of years, for each creation.

When I say relying on just science, this is the science that atheists are talking about. However, there has been no scientific experiment conducted to prove the Theory of Evolution, so I think it makes more sense to have faith in an all-powerful God, who's power, the Holy Spirit, I have personally experienced.

That is why I believe that the proof of when humans were created is not possible through science, but only through God. However, theologians can only theorize certain things, but not prove anything.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that this question is not possible to answer specifically and accurately by humans, since we have no evidence. Try to think about it for yourself before you trust in what other people say, including what I am saying. Try and look at both sides of the story. Humans don't know everything, and they never will, or at least, not while they are in this life, so don't just take what you are told as the truth. We have no absolute way of knowing the origin of life while we are in this life.

Sorry for the long answer.

The planet itself has been itself since it was first created by lots of bits of rock and the force of gravity. But Earth probably got its name when people learnt to talk and started naming things, and the term "Earth" was applied for that purpose only when the English Language developed.

Scientific evidence leads to the conclusion that the Earth has existed for about 4.54 billion years. Christians with a fundemental orientation often conclude that it is about 6000 years old. Other groups will propose other ages.

By the way Earth with a capital E is the planet, without a capital e it is the mud soil, and rock.
