2 ways 1 when the "Monster" disappears from where you killed it or after about 15-25minutes. I learned this when we were looting in Knoxx's special loot places in the desert. Otherwise they last until you go out to another map loaction or day/night cycle because once when i was playing myself the gun was there until it cycled....
