Scabies are usually contagious about 40 days before you know you have them. They die within about 10 hours of being treated and are then no longer contagious. They don't like to live on fabric and if they can't find a human they will die off on clothes in about 4 days.

Scabies lasts until you get rid of it: It just doesn't go away. It needs whole family treatment, or it will just be passed back to you.Plus You also need to wash all clothes and bedding (possibly furniture?). Back in the late 70's, Quell (or maybe Kwell?) lotion took care of that, no idea what it is now.

Scabies are contagious until it's gone. When the scabies are gone. It is not longer contagious. But, you have to wash your blankets & clothes that you used when you had them. Or they can still be contagious.

Actually scabies, is very contagious through skin contact, and once treatment has started you are no longer contagious after 24-72 hours of starting the treatment. I see these cases on monthly basis, as long as you are being treated you should be fine after 72 hours. Also, remember to wash all your clothing and bed sheets with hot water, vacuum your carpets and sofas.

anywhere from 24 to 72 hours after starting treatment. If you should happen to start seeing new bumps then they are contagious up to 72 hours.

Is scabies contagious?

Scabies is a skin disorder that you get from dirt, mostly people that don't wash much and people that live on the streets get it. You know if you have scabies when they first start appearing on your arms. You mostly catch scabies by kissing, hugging and huddling. People that have scabies are afraid of what people will think so they cover their body as much as they can. The worst case of scabies is what children usually get between the age of 11 and 16. If you know anyone with scabies make sure you do not have physical contact with them, for example: kissing, hugging, huddling, an skin contact. Some people that have the worst case of scabies died from it, because they didn't regularly go to their doctor. SO IF YOU KNOW ANYONE WITH SCABIES DO NOT GET INTO CONTACT WITH THEM!

How likely is it that someone can get scabies from a massage?

Scabies is highly contagious! I would not recommend such contact unless you want someone else to get it too. If it is you who have it make sure you start the treatment cream as soon as you can, wash your sheets, towels, etc. If you don't know what scabies is think of it this way....it is basically lice under your skin. would you want to give someone with lice a massage?
