Unfortunately, there is no whitewater to be had in Ohio. However, the good news is, there is plenty of whitewater in the surrounding area within a reasonable driving distance. The Yough river in PA is fantastic! It is ~3 hours from Columbus. West Virginia also has some excellent rivers which include: The Gauley River, and the New River. All of the above mentioned are world class whitewater destinations. Have fun!

You can't " sail" the river. You could take a boat down parts of it, but there are dams on it so you couldn't travel the entire river. It is over 14,000 miles long and goes through seven states. It also supplies power through the hydraulic dam system. Some areas of the river are also whitewater and used for rafting.
