Anywhere from 21 - 28 days. Birds do not really have a gestation period as this word really applies when an embryo develops inside its mother. I assume you mean the time it takes the egg to hatch, which is called incubation time. This varies, roughly with the size of the bird. Small birds hatch quickly, the canary in only 13 days, and bigger birds take longer, e.g. 35 days for swans and 40 or more for ospreys.

The gestation period of the grey squirrel is approx. 40 days. From about 40 - 45 days. Typically they have a "litter" of three.

What species? Presumably you mean incubation period? Different species vary considerably - from around 14 days to around 25 days.

The gestation, or incubation, period for a dove is between 12-15 days. Both the male and females will sit on the egg during this time.
