Your question is quite vague. However, I will try my best to answer it. You are most likely looking for the area of the inside surface of the pan. Assuming a diameter of twelve inches, the area of a circle would be ((12/2)^2)*pi (about 22/7) square inches, or about 113 square inches. If you mean that the circumference is twelve inches, then the area would be ((12/pi)/2)^2 * pi or about 11.459 square inches. Please double-click on the words "diameter" and "circumference" if you are unsure of which answer you need.
Grease the cake pan(s) with shortening, and flour, then gently tap out excess flour. * Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes, but remember oven temperatures vary, so check your cake after about 35 minutes, and every couple of minutes after that.
You can test for doneness by slightly touching the center of the cake. If it is slightly firm to the touch, it is done. The heat retained in the cake will continue to cook it a bit more after it's removed from the oven, so be sure not to overcook it.
Cool in pan(s) for about 15 minutes, then turn onto cooling rack to cool completely before frosting.
* You can lightly grease the bottom of the cake pan, then line with a round parchment paper. Then grease and flour the parchment paper and sides of the cake pan as you would if you weren't using the parchment. The parchment paper ensures a much easier release from the cake pan without sticking.
To help prevent the cake from forming a dome (rounded up in the center): Pour the cake batter in the cake pan, then spin the pan quickly on the counter top. This will disperse the batter more to the outer part of the pan, and will result in a more level cake. Just be careful not to spin it off the counter top! The best way to do it is to place both hands on the cake, one hand on each side, then "spin" the pan several times.
When baking a cake... which i dont do much of... You should Bake a round 12 inch cake for about 20- 30 minutes, after 20 minutes you should check regularly on your cake until it looks spongey and golden.... Well Dts how i did it.... Lol XD
The number of servings you will get from a 12" round cake will be depend on the event. If the cake is a standard party cake or a wedding cake. Wedding cake slices are cut slightly smaller (1"x2"x height of cake).
12" round cake serves 32 for a party and 47 for a wedding.
you bake it for 20 minutes check it and if it isn't ready then put it in the oven for another 2-3 minutes (you can check if its ready by putting a sharp knife through the middle of the cake. if any of the raw cake mix is on the knife then cook it for longer if not then just put it in for longer.)
hope this helped!!
approx.30 to 45 min. at 375degrees if it is made from scratch, otherwise follow the directions on the box.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45-50 minutes.
same as other cakes
1/2 an hour (at most!)
A cake can only cook if it is in an oven. And a thicker cake would take longer to cook than the thin cake would.
