How long to charge an m4 airsoft gun battery?

I read that the initial charge should be 4 hours, but no longer, and that all charges after that should be 2-3 hours, but again, no longer. Charging too long will cause the battery to not be able to hold a charge and could even cause it to leak.

Depending on the charger you have with your gun, it can take up to 8 hrs.

If you speed charge it takes 1-2 hours but long charge is 4-6 hours an easy way to tell is if there is a change of temperature in the battery if it gets warm then stop charging.Another way of doing it is finding the mah of the battery and then divide that by the charger output (mah) and then multiply the answer by 1.4 and that will give you the charge time in hours and minutes.

it depends on the batery dived the mah by the charger output for example

I have a 2100 mah batery and a 300 mah charger so i divide 2100 by 300 and I get 7 so it will take 7 hours for my battery

or you could buy a smart charger. it takes half the time as a regular one.

it depends on the battery and charger. the charger should be able to set the voltage and then the number of mili-amps per hour. it also depends if you are using a LiPoly, Ni-Cad, or NImh battery. you don't want to risk burning out the battery, or frying your charger, or burning down your house.

depends on the battery and charger. standardd wall charger with a nmhi battery 1800mah about 4-6 hours. smart charger untill it says full charge

You need to look at the battery and look up the recomended time. Overcharging will ruin the battery.
