It would depend. The actual "series run" for each series can easily be added up but some of the series are still running on channels like Scifi and TV Land. ;) If you'd like some more info, message me. Another Answer: The Original Series (Capt. Kirk) 3 seasons The Animated Series (Capt. Kirk) 1 season The Next Generation (Capt. Picard) 7 seasons Deep Space Nine (Capt. Cisco) 7 seasons Voyage (Capt. Janeway) 7 Season Enterprise (Capt. Archer) 2 Seasons ALL of these series are still running in syndication on a variety of networks. So Star Trek has literally been on the air in one form or another for more than 43 years.

What technology from Star Trek is used today?

Nothing, but there are some things that resemble things in Star Trek. The thing that is important to remember is Star Trek is fiction and the technologies we use are fact. One thing that many people claim was inspired by Star Trek is the cell phone. But that is totally wrong as Bell Labs came up with the idea back in 1947, nineteen years before Star Trek appeared on TV in 1966! But Bell Labs put the project on hold after a few years of work as the vacuum tube technology of the time could not support the requirements of such a system. When the first handheld cell phone was built by Motorola in 1971 it bore no resemblance to anything in Star Trek as it was about the size and weight of a brick and could only run about 1 hour on a battery charge.

Why was Star Trek next generations tv how cancelled?

Falling ratings in the US. John ____________________________________________________________ When Star Trek was cancelled it did not suffer from low ratings. In fact, it was a top twenty show. However, the special effects of the day did cost a great deal. Because of this, the show was cancelled and to the heartbreak of millions of fans was replaced by Bracken's World. The popularity of the show generating 3 Spin offs and movies proves that perhaps this was not the best decision.
