While your falling down the Empire State Building you would explode, You would be split into pieces. The reason why you would explode is because human body can only reach to a certain speed until it explode.

The total height of the Empire State Building (including the rod on top) is 1454 feet. Not counting the rod, it's 1250 feet. From the ground to the 102nd-floor observatory is 1224 feet, and from the ground to the 86th-floor observatory is 1050 feet.

BASE is an extreme sport that involves parachuting off tall objects. One of the dangers is hitting the ground before the parachute deploys. Also, BASE jumping is illegal in some countries and you may be jailed for a maximum of fifteen years.
The building is h=.5 gt^2 meters tall; that is = .5x9.8 x25 =122.5 meters.
Cheddar Gorge base jumping is just base jumping at Cheddar Gorge. Base jumping is a sport where someone jumps of a solid/fixed object that is high above the ground and pulls the string attatched to their parachute which is on their back, so they land safely on the ground. (Cheddar Gorge is a limestone gorge in Somerset.) hope this helped :)
Aircraft etc: The speed at which the aircraftcraft etc must be travelling in order to leave the ground. Athletics/jumping: The speed of the athlete at the point of leaving the ground when jumping e.g. in a high-jump competition.
yes but it wasn't suicide. He was jumping off the building to catch old of a palm tree so he could climb down to the ground. He missed (or the tree gave way) and he fell which caused his fatal injuries.
Lighting is electricity, as electric tension builds up, it wants to discharge via the earth. Air has a very very large resistant so electricity searches the shortest route to the ground, as the empire state building is one of the highest buildings in it's vicinity, lighting often travels via it.
