The Europeans killed off the Indians with a disease hey already had (the disease was small pox).
The American settlers, referred to as Europeans by this guy above me, would use tactics like small pox blankets and quilts, but it was actually highly uncommon due to the lack of chemical suits and lab equipment, and the American settlers did not want to have it spread... there was no vaccine.
We commenced in wars and creation of Indian wars. We killed upwards of 1million to possibly 3million. America was founded on MASS genocide. Im proud to be an American.
The was no genocide only a clash of cultures, none should be that naive to believe the birth of a new world was about to come without some bloodshed.
I don't know the exact number, but millions were killed. Whole tribes were starved to death, slaughtered, and totally wiped out to disease. I remember seeing a map in a old history book that showed the Native American populations in 1750 in one map and the population in 1850. The stark difference between the two maps is startling. Whole areas where Native Americans lived in 1750 showed no tribes in 1850. In a 100 years the population had declined severely and many had been moved to reservations.
you're not going to find an exact number. I'm not sure if you could even find an estimate.
Not many, when you compare that number to the number of Native- Americans killed.
Juan de Padilla was killed by Indians, but there are many uncertainties surrounding his death. Nobody knows for sure exactly when and where he was killed, and it is uncertain which tribe actually killed him.
Yes! Christopher Columbus and many others killed Indians to get their land and supplies.

Interaction with English settlers was not central to the life and culture of the plains Indians in the 1800s. This was because these settlers brought diseases that killed the natives.
