She was born in Australia, but had just taken out UK citizenship. She was on the 106th floor of the WTC north tower. - Lesley Anne Thomas, 41, from NSW, was in the WTC north tower. VICTORIA: - Leanne Whiteside, 31, a lawyer from Melbourne who was in the WTC south tower. - Peter Gyulavary, 44, was born in Geelong, Victoria but had moved to the US 20 years ago. Four aircraft were hijacked from east coast airports. Two of these aircraft struck the two main towers of the World Trade Center (WTC1 and WTC2) in Manhattan, New York City. A… third struck one side of the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC. The fourth is believed to have been retaken by the passengers aboard the aircraft; it crashed in a rural area near Shanksville, PA. They September 11th 2001 attacks were held in New York city and Washington D.C they were in New York, and arlington where the pentagon was, and rural Pennsylvania where a plane was overtaken the second time by the passengers and crashed in a Field While the World Trade Center's twin towers in New York City (an area now known as "ground zero") is the principle place people remember, it did take place in other areas.
