Depends on a lot of variables such as: How long is the event? Are appetizer strictly at the onset of the event or will there be an appetizer buffet style table? How many types of appetizers are there going to be? Then follow the food pryamid recommendation-- unlimited supply of fruits and veggies appetizers and at least 1/3 less deserts and meats and sweets.

You would need at least 2 or 3 it actually depends on what is qoing on at the reception.If there will be a lot of dancing then you might not need that much food.
