Walter Elias Disney (Dec1901-66) won a total of 22 Academy Awards from a total of 59 nomination's won his 1st Oscar (Honorary) for the creation of Mickey Mouse in 1932. He also got 4 honorary Oscar awards, his last Competitive & Honorary Oscars were posthumous.

Walter also was the inaugural recipient of a star in the Anaheim walk of stars for his contribution, mainly for Disneyland in Anaheim,Calif. he has 2 stars in the H'wood walk of fame,1 for motion pics & the other for TV. He also received the Legion d'Honneur in France in 1935, & the Pres medal of freedom in 1964 & the Congressional Gold medal in 1968. The League of Nations awarded him a spl award for creating Mickey Mouse.

He was inducted in the California hall of fame in 2006 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. A minor planet discovered by a Russian astronomer is named after him.

Among his awards & honors received were the Honorary Oscar statuette & 7 miniature statuettes given to him in 1937 by A.M.P.A.S. in recognition for his production of "Snow white & the 7 dwarfs, & a citation stating the feature as a significant screen innovation that enthralled millions.
