That answer means 10 cal walking down 1 flight, which is 5 times this one. And both assume that we know how many steps and/or feet in a "flight", which is by no means standard!
The amount of calories a body will burn is dependant on how much stairs you climb, how vigorously you do it, and your bodies current level of stamina. Type this into Google and I think there is a chart that lists the amount of calories burned over a set amount of time doing one activity. My experience with calories is that, even if you think you burned a lot of calories doing one activity, the actual amount you have burned is very small. (that was the case with me, I found out that 45 minutes of sprinting on a bike, only burned about 150 calories, but the amount will be different for you (hopefully higher then mine))
I lose 7-10 but it depends on your weight and what difficulty your on I was on and could barely keep up without hitting floor but I do that in the middle of my workout and that is about 15 calories
The number of calories that are burned during exercise depending on weight and intensity. A 180 pound person doing 30 minutes of moderate stair running will burn 367 calories.
according 2 how long u run it varies i just ran 5 miles yesterday i think i lost about 200 cals
It would depend on the frequency at which you climb and the individuals weight and body comp that's doing the climbing.
about 10
none really
4 steps
Look at it this way... To lose one pound of weight, you must have a total NEGATIVE intake of 3600 calories. Stair-climbing does burn more calories than walking on a flat surface, but while burning calories doing this you are building muscles (heart, in your legs & buttocks, etc), which is good. Also, the exercise should be over at least a 20 minute period, several days a week primarily for your cardiac workout... But you've got to burn that 3600 calories in order to lose the weight, and do it so that you lose about 1/2 pound a week (women) or 1 pound a week for men. If the total intake of calories is greater than you expend, then your weight will go up correspondingly.
I would say that is false.
Not very many...Think about it, it is not very hard work, you lose 60 calories an hour just breathing, and that's a fact!
Depends on your calorie intake. You have to burn more calories than you consume to lose weight. 1 lb is approximately 3500 calories.
Swimming definitely you lose 6 calories in 1 minute, so if you swim for 1 hour, you burn about 360 calories.
really really far. one pound of body mass is usually equated to 3500 calories burned. depending on how fast you are jogging you usually only burn about 5 calories a minute. if you are running a 10 minute mile 3500 calories/5 calories per minute = 700minutes/10 minutes per mile = 70 miles good luck.
It is said that taking at least 3 thirty minute naps does burn a substantial amount of calories, but otherwise, no.
They lose 5647 calories an hour
the average person will burn 11 calories per minute but the higher and the faster you go you could burn up to 20 calories. if you are trying to lose some weight i would suggest doing jump rope for an hour a day and then you have already burned 660 calories. you be amazed with the results
When you walk, even when going downhill or down the stairs, you are burning calories. Any calories you burn come from the glycogen stored in your body in the form of adipose (fat) tissue. So, even if you are not losing weight, you are doing what you can not to gain more. Walking up the stairs burns more calories than walking down, so avoid the elevator.
It takes 3500 calories to lose a pound
1 pound equals 3,500 calories. You can burn around 0.1 calories per jump. 3,500 calories divided by 0.1 calories per jump is 35,000 jumps in 1 pound. That would take almost 3 hours to burn off (at 200 jumps per minute)
