You should never take in less then 1200 calories because your metabolism needs atleast that much to keep working. if you take in less then 1200 your metabolism will go down alot because it will think that your going to die. a 13 year old should have 2000 calories. if you see that your getting on the chunky side, then make it 1800 but no lower. remember that your growing!!!! and dont worry so much about your weight. your 13. and you dont have to eliminate chocolate as long as you eat fruit, veggies, low fat & low calories meats, breads, and dairy =). i hope this helps =). if you have further questions go ahead and ask!! A 5'1" female should weigh about 105-140 lbs, depending on her frame. 85 lbs is quite underweight on any frame About what he/she is eating now. Don't worry about the number of calories, just eat a well balanced diet with lots of protein (for growth), carbohydrates (for energy) fruit and vegetables, (for vitamins and minerals)

First of all, it's "weighs." Secondly, if you're doing sports or some other form of exercise, some things change. But on average, you should eat about 1500 calories to stay healthy but less than 2200. Eat healthy foods and alot of protein too.

It depends on how active the girl is. If she's mostly sedentary, then about 1,700-1,800. If she's lightly active, 1,900. If moderately active, 2,000. If very active, then around 2,200-2,400. Of course these numbers are just averages. If you want a more accurate number, talk to your doctor or try an online calorie calculator.
