State Governors Who Have Run for U.S. President
---------------------------------------------------------------
Seventeen State Governors have subsequently become President. They are:
Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, John Tyler - Virginia
Martin Van Buren, Grover Cleveland, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Delano Roosevelt - NY
James Polk, Andrew Johnson - Tennessee
Rutherford B Hayes, William McKinley - Ohio
Woodrow Wilson - NJ
Calvin Coolidge - Mass
James Earl Carter - Georgia
Ronald Wilson Reagan - California
William Jefferson Clinton - Arkansas
George Walker Bush - Texas
Two Territorial Governors later became President. They are:
Andrew Jackson - Florida
William Henry Harrison - Indiana
William Howard Taft - The Philippine Islands
There have only been 2 United States Presidents who were Texans; Dwight D. Eisenhower (born in Denison in Grayson County) and Lyndon B. Johnson (born in Stonewall in Gillespie County). NO other US presidents were born in Texas, and therefore were not Texans.
Lyndon Johnson was born in Texas and and served as a Congressman and Senator from Texas. George W. Bush was born in Conn., but spent his adult life in Texas and served as the Governor of Texas. Eisenhower was born in Texas, but his family moved out when he was a baby and he never lived there as an adult.
I can think of two. George W. Bush, of course, was elected President. John Connally campaigned for the Republican nomination in 1980 but lost to Reagan.
George W. Bush is the only one so far.

The Federal Reserve is run by a board of 7 governors. These governors are appointed by the President with Senate approval and serve 14-year terms. The President , with Senate approvals appoints one of the governors to be Chairman and another to be vice-chairman. These two people serve 4-year terms.
No.
No.
Yes and no. The governors have no legal way to remove a president from his office in the constitution. Governors can however call for a constitutional convention and make a new constitution. So yes they can remove a president, just not quickly.
The president
No, governors are elected by the people of a state. Federal judges are appointed by the President and confirmed by Congress.
In the US, state governors are chosen by popular election. The people choose governors.
For congress and governers. The president is not up for election this year, but many in the Senate, House, and Governors are.
No, though many presidents were previously governors (including Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush). Many other presidents were senators or vice-presidents.
Jails are run by governors.
No, I would say not.
None is President of Washington State. Sates have Governors, not Presidents.
