Most people working in sweatshops are females between ages 9-25, during their teens and early adult life. This is the time period that should be used for education, but instead, is used to support their family.
Untill they are allowed to go home. There is no real amount because it is not set. Extreamly long.
actually that's not true they work up to 16 hours from 5am till 9pm...
The term "sweatshop" refers to an illegal labor factory usually staffed by underage employees working long hours for little pay.
All of them!
lots
I guess you mean underage workers. Most of them are from 8 to 14 years old.
They are often children whose parents sold them or gave them to work in sweatshops because the family is too poor to feed them.
You would probably get outraged if a relative of yours was working 12 or more hours a day for just a few dollars.
The usual age is around 13 years, but considering sweatshops break many other human rights and laws, there may be no age limit in some sweatshops.
Sweatshops
Yes, people working in sweatshops would be better off if the factories were not there to employ them. Sweatshops offer extremely horrible working conditions, higher number of working hours and measly wages, causing workers in sweatshops to be threatened by potential work hazards. As of today, Mexico has a minimum wage of only $4.93 per day, Bangladesh has a minimum wage of only $24.03 per month, while Canada has a minimum wage of $10.25 in Ontario per hour. This is a glaring disparity between the countries, and many people in Mexico and Bangladesh are earning less money than they need even to fulfill their most basic needs. The incomes from the sweatshops are hardly helping the families. Apart from this, the employees in these poor condition sweatshops are seldom protected from toxic chemicals. The pollutants from the substance that colours clothes in the garment industry can be inhaled and cause serious health problems after a long period. Breathing complications may arise even if employees inhale small particles of fabric, floating in the air into their lungs. These sweatshops not only adversely affect their employees, but also have a disastrous impact on the environment. The factories produce hazardous waste and air pollutants like carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides, among others, that can build up over time to contribute to global warming, and other environmental problems. Because these sweatshops are helping neither the families nor the environment, people working in sweatshops are basically encouraging the worst for their country and economy.
As many people as there are of working age.
hard life like hell on earth
Sweatshops
They now have better working conditions and dont exist as much anymore
No. The aspect of a sweatshop is to have vulnerable people working long hours in very, very poor conditions for little money. In some countries children are working in these areas as young a 5 years old
sweatshops first started at the start of the world war one! people couldn't afford to but clothes so they sent their kids to sweatshops to work to get money for themselves
