Many end up practicing law, but most expect that their going to be trial attorneys, running their own firm. That isn't the case, there's so many other things that require attorneys, and not everyone is cut out to be a great trial attorney or own their own law firm. There's so many big firms that handle trial cases it's nearly impossible for some one right out of school to get their foot in or even compete. Many lawyers go on to find unique avenues of work that involve practicing law. For example I've seen websites that will pay lawyers to answer questions all day, and there are lawyers on there that seem like they do it full-time, and probably earn good money from it. They were paying the lawyers $15 or more per answer. If you know your stuff then you could easily earn $45 an hour by answering a question every 20 minutes at 40 hours per week that comes out to $1,800 a week. Plus that would be really good consultation practice. If you can give a great consultation your almost guaranteed that customer.
