Figures for 2005 show that 1.6 billion adults are overweight and 400 million are obese. As for children, estimates say that 22 million children under 5 are obese.
About 46% of men in England and 32% of women are overweight (a body mass index of 25-30 kg/m2), and an additional 17% of men and 21% of women are obese (a body mass index of m…ore than 30 kg/m2 ). Overweight and obesity increase with age. About 28% of men and 27% of women aged 16-24 are overweight or obese but 76% of men and 68% of women aged 55-64 are overweight or obese. Overweight and obesity are increasing. The percentage of adults who are obese has roughly doubled since the mid-1980's.
only the fat ones, most likely you, it's no normal
its Canada... Alot. ____________________ That doesn't make sense. This is from Wikipedia: A 2004 study called the Canadian Community Health Survey, found 23% of Canadia…ns 18 and older were obese and 36% more were overweight (as determined by body mass index). In children and adolescents, 8% were obese and 18% overweight. Rates of obesity varied significantly between the province, from an obesity rate of 19% in British Columbia to a rate of 34% in Newfoundland and Labrador. The prevalence of obesity in the two most populated provinces, Ontario and Quebec, matched those of thirty US states, at a level equal to or greater than 25%. The study found people that live in cities (Census Metropolitan Areas) had significantly lower obesity rates in Nova Scotia, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. In Quebec the relationship approached significance (p=0.8), while in Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick and Saskatchewan the rate of obesity did not vary significantly between CMAs and rural areas. A 2005 report released by the Canadian government's Economics Division reported that "In 2004, approximately 6.8 million Canadian adults aged 20 to 64 were overweight, and an additional 4.5 million were obese. Roughly speaking, an adult male is considered overweight when his body weight exceeds the maximum desirable weight for his height, and obese when his body weight is 20% or more over this desirable weight. A similar guideline holds true for women, but at a threshold of 25% rather than 20%. Dramatic increases in overweight and obesity among Canadians over the past 30 years have been deemed to constitute an epidemic."
Obesity 2009 Report has it at 32.7% That is incorrect, because that would mean 92.7% of the country is overweight(obesity included) and that is incorrect. 60% of the country i…s overweight, and of that only about 27% of that number is obese. So 50,382,000 people are obese in America.
49,760,000 people in America are obese, and I am not sure how much of that is adult but Im sure it is over half, so about 30,000,000.
904560, not including you hey i weigh 450 notice my username fatpikachu1234 so shame on you http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Special:Contributions&target=ip:ID3426005959 you liar
Over half of the people in our modern world are clinically obese and so is everyone else, they just don't know it yet ;) x
About 60% of the country is overweight, 186,600,000 people; then around 27% of those people are obese (because then that would mean 87% of the country is not of normal weight …which is incorrect, so take 27% of the 60%.) so 50,382,000 people in the US are obese.
Well, obesity isn't like cancer. It's not one of those things that only ends at death or cure. Obesity is thought to increase death rates, but everyone can be said to "survi…ve" it because it doesn't directly kill.
The majority of Russians by the 'Body Mass Index' are average weight. Obese is by 0.1 percent.
