How many people died in World War 2?

Approx. 23 million dead for the Soviet Union and 11-20 million for the Chinese. These figures of course include the number of dead civilians. Germany total is approx. just under 7.4 million. Canada says that about 45,300 military people were killed during WW2. One Canadian publication say that 1,600 of Canada's civilian people were lost in ship sinkings.
