How many people have been killed in the Christian wars?

Nobody; there is no such thing as a christian war, only power hungry/greedy people exploiting uneducated/easily led people into thinking that they are performing a duty to God. Christ taught us to turn the other cheek and refused to lead people in resistance to the romans. You only need to look at what happened in the garden of Gethsemane to see how Christ wants us to deal with conflict situations, through self sacrifice and love. Look at how the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have worked out as a form of conflict resolution. Much of the world sees this as a modern day crusade only this time the battle cry is not " Deus Vult" (God wills it) it is: revenge for 9/11 (and hand over any oil reserves you happen to have). I know Iraq was not linked to 9/11 but the invasion was only possible in the climate of fear perpetrated by western governments based around rogue states and terrorism.

Exactly the same kind of people who were responsible for the crusades are responsible for the modern day "crusades". Hereditary dynasties of power-hungry families (Bush corporation for example, one of the most wealthy oil families in the world) looking for new countries to exploit, just as the major power base families in medieval Europe needed new areas to implement their system of feudalism for younger sons/ displaced barons etc. (Count Bohemond of Lombardy for example, an illegitimate son robbed of his lands by a younger brother was to become one of the most successful land grabbers in the Middle East when he took Antioch.)

As far as I am concerned the term Christian War is a contradiction in terms and any study of the New Testament will show you the real Christian method of conflict resolution.
