It's hard to say how many people are Autistic in the UK because not all Autistic people are diagnosed, and diagnosis is the only way we'd be able to tell. Different sources give different figures but most figures stand at around 700,000 people in the UK, representing 1 in 100.

The official figure for autism within the UK is around 700,000 - however this only accounts for those people who are diagnosed, the real figure is likely at least twice that.

Is the UK against autism?

No, the UK is not against autism and I'm not sure how countries could be against a disorder. The UK is one of the most tolerant places for Autism, for example we have one of the only Autism-specific laws (Autism Act) which requires people in government and healthcare to learn about Autism and a pathway to diagnosis. Although Autistic people in the UK still face prejudice in schools and employment, also under Tory government Autistic people are less likely to work, get support into work, or receive appropriate benefits - this is the fault of the Tory government, not the UK.

No, the puzzle piece associated with autism is not copyrighted. It was originally used by the UK autism charity National Autistic Society and has since been adopted by other major autism organisations around the world. Note: The puzzle piece is considered offensive by many autistic people because it implies autistic people are missing or a puzzle, also because of the associated with Autism Speaks which is widely considered a hate group by the autism community.

Is autism mental or a disibility physical?

Autism is not mental or physical per say, nor is it always a disability. Autism is a neurological difference - some people with autism do consider themselves disabled because of the way autism effects them, but many autistic people live just like neurotypical people so do not consider their autism to be a disability at all.
