In high-income societies each person throws away on average about 4-5 pounds (2 kg) a day.
according to www.cleanair.org, only about one-tenth of all solid garbage in the U.S. gets recycled
On average, an American produces 4.6 pounds a day. This totals to 230 million tons of trash a year-- enough to fill 108,000 garbage trucks.

Not exactly, ones called 'Recycle Bin" and the other "Trash". Apart from Linux not moving some files to the trash bin (settings mainly) they work pretty much the same.
Unless you recycle, all of your waste, not counting what goes in the sewer, goes to landfills. At your home, about 15% of your trash is recyclable and in an office as much as 85% of what goes into trash cans is recyclable.
Everyday a average human creates enough garbage to fill 5 garbage trucks. Think how much that can add up to in a week, a month, a year ... a lifetime????? Do the math, that's about 73 000 trucks for a average 40 year old. Reduce, reuse and recycle!!!
I don't save any of it; it all gets thrown away.

About 67 pieces and usually more. This is why many countries are having major recycling initiatives.
Well... recycling doesn't really help much from what I understand because I watched a documentary on like pollution and the process of recycling and they showed the people who were separating the trash from the recycle ables and they kept dropping trash AND recycle ables on the ground and never even picked anything up!so I think that people are just SO careless these days!
5lbs per person per day
Well, that all depends on how much water you use. The average though is about 150 dollars per person. Remeber: we can save the world by doing our part to protect it. So please Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
