In Guantanamo Bay, human rights are being overlooked because the detainees are enemies of the state and may or may not have valuable information on terrorist groups and functions. The Americans want to procure that information by any means necessary and if that means going against human rights laws and torturing the prisoners then so be it (in their opinion at least).
