There are no sculptures in the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo painted the ceiling and the altar of the Sistine Chapel.
Michelangelo had 31 works of art, one of which was the Sistine Chapel.
Michelangelo did many sculptures during his career. One of the most famous is the 'David' in Florence, Italy. His unfinished 'bound slaves' are there too. In Rome there is his 'Pieta', 'Moses' and statues for the tomb of Pope Julius. Michelangelo also was the architect of some buildings in Rome.Addition:Click link below for a complete list of his sculptures!
No, he definitely did not. He tried every way to say no to the Pope, but was ordered to paint. Twice during the work he even ran away, but each time he was detected and taken back to Rome. Michelangelo wanted to sculpt, not to paint.

There are many quotes by Michelangelo where he insists he is a sculptor and not a painter. Marble was definitely his preferred medium. An interesting aspect about the paintings in The Sistine Chapel is the sculptural quality of the images. This does not really show in photographs, but when seen in person one has the feeling that the figures are bursting out of the ceiling and wall.
