There are 8 squares to an acre. a "Square" of land is approximately four hundred and five (405) square metres or 16 perches. Please note for clarity that 40 perches are equal to a quarter of an acre of land.

You say there are 8 squares in an acre and that one square is about 16 perches but then u are saying a quarter on an acre is 40 perches. If 8 squares make an acre then it means a quarter of an acre would be 2 squares which means it would be 32 perches and

However i was told that there's about 10 square in an acre which means a quarter of an acre would be 2.5 squares multiply that by your 16 perches and u get your 40 perches for a quarter acre
