It is difficult to provide an exact number, but millions of pieces of paper are wasted each year on textbooks that are often discarded or replaced. This waste contributes to environmental problems such as deforestation and greenhouse gas emissions. Efforts to reduce paper waste, such as digital textbooks and recycling programs, can help mitigate these issues.

The number of pages that are in a textbook depends on the subject version, and a variety of other conditions. However textbooks I have used have been as small as 300 to upwards of 1500. I would say an average is 600-1200 pages.

Why can rubber rubbed with wool attract small bits of paper?

The reason why the pieces of paper are neutral is that they contain equal amount of positive and negative charges and so they cancel each other out. When you bring a charged plastic comb to the pieces of paper, the charge opposite to that of the plastic comb will be brought to a part of the surface of the paper where the plastic comb is. Opposite charges attract each other, and since you're holding the comb, the pieces of paper will be attracted to the comb.
