Its difficult to give an exact number of the invading Romans because there were at least two invasions at two different times. The first was under Julius Caesar and it is said… that he had about 30,000 men. Almost a hundred years later Claudius sent four legions over there, which on paper should have been around 24,000 men. (That is, if the legions were at full strength, which was a rare occurrence. At any rate, those numbers are estimated numbers and although they can come pretty close, there is no way to check for certain.

Poland is unfortunately situated between three major powers. The Austrians, the Russian's (their main enemy) and the Germans.
Successful invasions,(4), were by Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Danes and Normans. These are considered successful because they left their legacy in their genes and culture.

About 6000 Anglo-Saxons came to Britain over a period of at least 40 years. At no moment the amount of native Germans exceeded 3000 men. These professional soldiers did not 'i…nvade'. They were hired to be bodyguards and to train a local militia called the Fyrd. See: proto-english.org/a2.html
