Each aeroplane has a different rate of carbon dioxide emission depending on the size of its engines, the speed flown and the distance travelled. SAS has put together a calculator for many types of planes (See Link)

Commercial and personal planes fly everyday. The amount of carbon dioxide that each gives out depends on the weight on the plane and passengers aboard. It could be as much as 50000 pounds of CO2.
