The largest volcano in Oregon in terms of volume is Newberry Volcano. It has a estimated volume of 120 cubic miles which also makes it the second largest volcano in the cascade range after Medicine Lake in California that has 140 cubic miles of volume. It is a shield near south of Bend, Oregon and is often overlooked by many travelers due to lack of prominence over its surrounding terrain. But the mountain has a voilent past and is still active and past eruptions have resulted in a big caldera with two large lakes in it and many lava flows and buttes with in its vicinity. Newberry Volcanoes last eruption is estimated to be 1,400 years ago and resulted in the big obsidian flow inside of the caldera.

The tallest volcano in Oregon is Mount Hood at 11,250 feet. It last erupted in 1866. It still active and hosts a ski resort and many glaciers.
