The synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) indicate that the entire period of Jesus' mission was not more than one year. There is no mention of him going to Jerusalem for the Passover until the very end of his mission, and scholars say that all the events described could have taken place in as little as a few weeks. On the other hand, John's Gospel makes it clear that the entire period of Jesus' mission must have been three years, chiefly because of the intermediate trips to Jerusalem.
It is for this reason that there is controversy over the probable year of the crucifixion. From the time that Lukegives for the baptism of Jesus, it seems unlikely that the crucifixion would be later than 30 CE. However, this does not fit well with John, so the alternative year is 33 CE.

Scholars have noted that all the events ofthe synoptic gospels could have occurred in just a few weeks. On that basis, Jesus' mission was probably less than one year. Since Luke's Gospel places the beginning of his mission in 29 CE, Jesus would have been crucified in 30 CE.
John's Gospel tells a very different story in many respects, including annual trips to Jerusalem for the Passover celebration. On that basis, his mission lasted three years. Once again relying on Luke's Gospel dating of the beginning of Jesus' mission in 29 CE, Jesus would probably have been crucified in 33 CE.
In The Bible, the Gospels, A disciple is a follower of Jesus Christ. Jesus' earthly ministry was about 3 1/2 years. The 12 disciples He would have known for 3 1/2 years give or take a few weeks. Other disciples joined Jesus all through His ministry and so He would not have known them as long.
Jesus walked a period of three and half years with his 12 disciples.
They traveled with Jesus for three and a half years.
