Before you can even be accepted to medical school, you must have completed your Bachelors Degree, which is the first 4 years. Then once you are in med school, it is an additional 4 years to get your general MD. Then there are 4 more years between your residency and any specialty training you may choose.

So the answer is approximately 12 years.

approximately 20,000 new MDs and DOs combined graduate from U.S. medical schools each year, but this number is increasing as the American Association of Medical Colleges has recently requested that many medical schools increase their class sizes, to address the current and impending shortage of doctors. Also, a number of new medical schools are planned or are already under construction.

Depends on what kind of doctor.

MD, medical doctor.

JD, Judicary doctor

PhD, doctor of philosphy

ED, doctor of engineering

theres more...

For PhD in engineering and probably many other areas a PhD takes usually 4-5 years after your bachelors. Usually you are not required to get your masters before your PhD. I have seen some complete their PhD in 2.5 yrs and some take forever... like 8 yrs lol. its up to you how long it will take to finish.

That is entirely up to the individual. If one has a true passion for the field, they can achieve what they put their mind to.
