I thought I had read somewhere a few years ago that tuition costs have outstripped inflation by a lot - like it went up an average of 7.9% a year or more. That's the best I can remember.

It depends on course you want to pursue in that university. For example, if you pursue engineering in good universities like, LPU, Thapar, PEC.....etc, then fee would be around Rs. 120000 yearly (on average). But, still you need go-through their website for detailed info. and admission process.
Also, look for the scholarship schemes which some of them may provide depending on your percentage in qualifying exam.

If you intend on going to a 4 year college then the tuition for the classes can cost up to 20,000 to 30,000 dollars. If you plan on going to a community college the tuition can be 3,000 to 5,000, but the quality of classes might not be as great.
