Because the amount you're entitled to receive is based on the amount of earnings in 52 weeks in a base period, apparently it is the total time employed by employer(s), that is used to determine eligibility.

Your unemployment benefits are about 50% of your average weekly wages, with the amount you would have had to earn to qualify for the maximum was $37,740 in a 30 week period in the basis period, or $1258 per week. See the Related Link below for more information.

Can part time Georgia teachers collect unemployment compensation between school terms?

Usually, teachers are paid a salary and cannot collect unemployment between school terms, but you can check with your unemployment office. If you are paid hourly, it might be possible to collect benefits. Again, check with your unemployment office or ask the school administrators if it is possible to collect unemployment. The school can probably tell you. Another answer: I doubt it, but call or email your unemployment department. I am a retired teacher who subs during the school year and tried to collect unemployment in the summer. They paid me, but then decided that I didn't earn it so I had to pay it back. There is a law that has been passed that prohibits teachers from unemployment, but I am not sure if this a federal law or state.

You work and still collect unemployment will they find out?

When they do, they will fine you, take back what you were paid, prevent you from collecting in the future, and possibly send you to jail for unemployment fraud. Do you want to chance that? Better to find out how much they will allow you to earn if you want to still collect benefits, which they may do in certain cases.

Can you collect unemployment if you work 30 hours a week?

Your benefits will be impacted more by how much you earn than by how many hours you work. I would guess, even at minimum wage, you would not be eligible for unemployment insurance benefits while working 30 hours per week.

Can you minimize hours at work and still collect unemployment?

Unemployment benefit is paid to those who are out of work. If you find work you must tell the benefit agency or you will be committing a crime (fraud). Depending on how much you earn it may be that the agency will top up your earnings to the equivalent of your unemployment entitlement (if your wages are less) so as to ease you back into full time work.

You can receive partial unemployment benefits, if you are earning money. After deducting $25 from your weekly earnings, the amount over that, subtracted from your weekly benefits, would be the amount of your adjusted weekly benefit. See the Related Link below for more details.

The question isn't how many hours you can work, but how much you earn in a week compared to the benefits you'd be entitled to, which depends on how you qualified for the benefits in the first place.
