nothing... it's free

well... i suppose you may need to pay for petrol to drive to church... or pay for a bus etc... but that hardly counts

some churches pass round a collection tray/bag during the service, in which it is traditional to put some money, but it's not required. no one will mind if you choose not to give any money.

I'm assuming you mean a christian church... i cant speak for any other religions...

hello im someone else ^^ id say that if any church requires over 5 dollars a week then you shouldn't go to that church

It depends entirely on the church. Each one has a different cost. There are also additional costs for musicians and/or cantors, floral arrangements, priest, marriage prep meetings, verger, etc. Some churchs have a flat fee that covers everything, other churchs are itemised and you can choose. Once you have selected the church you wish to marry in, its best to ask.

For tax reasons, churches do not charge a fee, but they do suggest you pay a donation. Sometimes individual churches will suggest their own minimum donation. This is commonly around 500 dollars.

Church is FREE! You don't have to give money to the church when going to service. Money is nice to give though it doesn't matter how much but it usually goes to helping out the church or going to charities.

While church does not require an admission price or fee, that doesn't mean that there isn't a cost involved. You just aren't required to pay it. At my last church the annual budget divided by 52 (number of Sundays) divided by the average attendance came out to around $20 a head. This covered the cost of the building, utilities, insurance and paid staff not including any supplies or materials used during the year.

It really depends on you. The Bible said tithe is 10% of your earnings so usually we Christians give 10% of yearly earnings to the church. Also, most churches don't ask for money straight they let you make the call.

In common Christian belief, tithing is the method in which we contribute to the upkeep of the church and all it's activities. Tithing in simple reference means one tenth. In the Old Testament, it was instructed by god to his people, that one tenth of harvests and the like should be given unto him in Thanksgiving for all that he has blessed them with. As such, it is still practiced today as one tenth of our net income every month. Offering on the other hand is taken up by the church every week and this amount is not stipulated, so depending on what you feel like giving, you are able to further your contribution.

That is all true but the number you are looking for varries based on the income of the folks who are going to a church and what kind of church it is. The number is generally between 1-3% for any church. The average churchgoer in America donates between 1 and 3 percent of their income.

How much you pay for a church wedding depends on the church. Members may be charged less (or have some fees completely waived.) The minister and organist fees are separate from the church fee. The church fee may include a building use fee, a custodial fee (someone's got to clean up all that rice!), and a sexton's fee. (If there is a sexton, he sets things up, lights candles, adjusts the fans, may direct parking, may explain which rooms the bridal party are supposed to use, etc.)

Just to give a ballpark idea, in 2012 in my small New York church, the minister and organist each get $100, the custodian gets $75, and the building use fee (waived for members) is $50. Some people choose to pay the minister and/or the organist more depending on the premarital counselling or the complexity of the wedding music respectively.

The stipend for a parish wedding differs from community to community. It is set by the parish. In the Catholic Church one of the parties is obliged to be a member of the parish.
