It costs a bit more if the house is already constructed. Best to get the builder install exterior pots during construction.
They add a bit of a wow factor, but can be a hassle years down the road when you need to change out a dead bulb. Better to get all of them changed out after about 3 years.
To answer your question now, I know my friend had about 8 exterior pot lights on his two storey home done a few years back and he said it was $1500 total. This was in Windsor, Ontario.

Last summer (June 2009) i paid $850 + tax for 10 indoor pot lights indoor, and $600 for 6 outdoor. The guy who did this was extremely helpful, and very knowledgeable. He makes his business looked so easy. To answer your question. Based on my research I would say per light would cost you a bit more.
