There were unsubstantiated reports last year that Flair was offered $800,000 per year to sign with TNA Wrestling, most in an on air talent and ambasador role, not so much as an active wrestler. The reports stated that Flair wanted guarntees in his contract that Panda Energy, which backs TNA, would be good for his salary if anything happened to the fledgling wrestling company.

Flair nor TNA have never validated these reports. It is believed that as a part time wrestler/on air talent Flair was paid approximately $500,000 per year from WWE, however that salary would have been higher when factoring in the bonuses wrestler's in WWE get for appearing on Pay Per Views and merchandise sales (T-shirts, Action Figures, DVD's, etc).
