1903 is a very common date Indian Head cent. For an accurate assessment of value the coin needs to be seen and graded. Most coins of this type have seen heavy use and show a lot of wear. In general retail values for low grade coins are $1.00-$2.00, better grade are $3.00-$9.00 and coins showing almost no wear run from $20.00-$24.00. Values are a market average and only for coins in collectible condition, coins that are bent, corroded or have been cleaned have far less value if any to a collector or dealer

There was not an 1803 Indian Head coin made.

The 1803 Large cent had a depiction of liberty wearing a headdress with "LIBERTY" on it called the Draped Bust Large Cent. If the coin grades a Good it sells for $40.00 - $75.00 depending on your coin market. A high uncirculated grade would fetch $3,500 - $15,000 depending on specific grade (higher if full RED).

Well after looking at places that sell coins on the internet. They are selling 3 good or better circulated condition Indian on cent penny's dated after 1900 for $27.50. So I would put an estimate at around 9 bucks apiece. I just found one myself so If you have any better estimate let me know. You can get more money just look at any website.

Please post a new question with the coin's date. If it's 1908 or 1909, also see if there's a small "S" in the bow of the wreath on the back.

Without the date and mint mark it's not possible to give even a ballpark value, because Indian Head cents were struck from 1859 to 1909 and have values ranging from maybe a dollar for the most common ones up to many tens of thousands for the rarest ones.

First off, Indian Head cents were not minted by the US Mint until 1859. If you do have an Indian Head gold coin - these coins were minted in denominations of: dollars, $2.50, $5.00, and $10.00. And, these specific coins were initially minted in the year 1854, 1908, 1908, and 1907, respectively.

The first Indian Head cents were dated 1859. Liberty head cents were struck in 1802, and they were large coins about the size of a half dollar, not easy to confuse with a small Indian Head cent. Please check your coin and post a new question.

The U.S. never made cents out of silver. For one thing, a large cent made of silver would have been worth more than a half dollar at the time. Your coin has almost certainly been plated for use in jewelry or something similar, which unfortunately has destroyed what would have been a fairly significant collectible coin. Values for undamaged 1803 cents range anywhere from $60 for the most common specimens in very worn condition, up to several thousand dollars for the rarest varieties.
