Many of the hope chests are worth a price close to $80 each. The price may vary depending upon the exact chest and its condition
Sears made good tools, but not guns. These were kits and quality was second. Japan made the steel workings and back then, Japan was like the China of today! 100.00 buck or less is value. They were not highly accurate but where what they were cheap to own. Hope it helps.

The number you are referring to is not the serial number. That number is the catalog number for Sears & Roebuck. The serial number is on the bottom of the rifle. V147XXX (example). These guns are essentially a Winchester 94 made for Sears & Roebuck Company produced between 1964 through 1978. There are no records available to confirm the exact year it was produced. Hope this helps.

Crosman made the pellet and bb guns for Sears starting in the 50's I am not sure when they stopped, I think probably sometime during the 70's. Sounds like you have a variation of the pumpmaster Crosman, so best guess, is if its older, anywhere from $50-$100. You can probably check on Crosman Forums, and get a better suited answer there. Hope it helps.

Traditionally a hope chest would contain clothing, bed linens, quilts, dishware, and sometimes a special dress or outfit. The hope chest or cedar chest was mainly kept by women hoping to be future brides so it was filled with things in preparation of their new household.
