It doesn't work like that at Coney Island. It doesn't cost anything to get inside the amusement park (Luna Park). You pay to go on the rides or play the games.
The new Luna Park just opened in 2010, replacing the old Astroland Park. The new Luna Park was named after the old Luna Park, which burned down in 1944.
At Astroland, you would buy tickets for the rides. The new Luna Park has a different system. You buy credits that are loaded onto a "Luna Card": 1 credit = $1. If you buy 35 credits for $35, you get 5 free ones, for a total of 40 credits. If you buy 60 credits for $60, you get 10 free ones, for a total of 70 credits. If you buy 100 credits for $100, you get 25 free ones, for a total of 125 credits.
The rides are expensive: 3 to 5 credits each, and 8 credits for the Cyclone. But you can buy an Unlimited Pass, which allows you to go on all the rides you want for 4 hours. It costs $30 per person on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and $26 per person on Monday through Thursday.
Note that you cannot use the Unlimited Pass to ride the Cyclone. The Unlimited Pass is also not valid for the games or the Scream Zone attractions.
