The fees are always subject to change, but as of 2014, the application fee is $340 for those postmarked before November 1 for the February exam, or March 1 for the July exam. Anything postmarked after those dates is subject to an increased application fee of $440. There may be other fees that apply to your particular situation, such as investigation fees of $225 or $325 based on postmark date, and $200 in administrative fees. The Patent Bar Exam is a two-part exam that takes six hours to complete. There is a forty dollar application fee in addition to either a $200 for the computerized test or $450 for the paper test.

It depends. The bar exams is held in Manila. If you live there it is a lot cheaper if you live outside of Manila it will cost around 150,000 Philippine peso since the exam is for a month.

All fees included, about 700 bucks, 750 if you take it on your laptop. There are fee waivers you can fill out for the various fees. This is overlooking the decision to take a bar prep course, which is highly suggested, and that will cost you anywhere from $3000-5000.

Your dad wouldn't have to retake the bar exam if YOU moved states. However, if your DAD moved from Kentucky to Hawaii, then he would have to take the bar exam there.
