Much (or even most) of what we think of as essential parts of the mythos were added by other writers, the Cartoons, serials or radio shows and then adapted into the comics. S&S were VERY well-compensated for what they produced.

Superman's creators Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel both received a $130.00 check ($10.00 a page), which was for the first issue and the rights to the character . The two , after sales increased , received $500.00 per issue .
