Very little. When an archaeologist first starts out he/she is generally working as a volunteer, connected with a university. If on a "dig" many times beginners have to even pay their own expenses. If one is selected as part of a team under a professor a small salary may be paid.

If you have your MA you can get around 40 to 60,000/year depending on where you're working. If you have a Ph D. you can get around 90,000 /year.
