Less than 1%. I hope that wasn't a question in your homework. The previous answer was ridiculously wrong!
I did the math, and they cover nearly 7%. Check it for yourself - the surface area of the world is 510 million square kilometres, and the surface area of the oceans is 361 million square kilometres. Coral reefs cover nearly 10% of the ocean's total area. 36.1 million over 510 million x 100 gives you just over 7%, but the real figure is slightly less because coral reefs account for NEARLY 10% of the ocean's surface area. Even if it was 9.5% of the ocean's area, coral reefs still cover over 6.7% of the world's total surface area. Hope this helps!
many coral reefs might die and might be extinct by putting too much nutrients
Coral Reefs - are stony structures formed underwater . They are mostly madeup of the framework of dead corals . They come in different sizes , shapes , and colors making them look like a beautiful sea garden .Coral - are large colonies of small animals called POLYPS . These polyps reside within a cup-like calcium carbonate skeleton .
Because onnce a guy was scuba diving and noticed coral reefs were dying to he took the coral reef to a aquarium and broke pieces of them and hung them by astring in the water and repeated the process so that's why there's so much of them
Coral is very hard and does not contain much food value. Humans cannot process the stone hard shell of the coral and the food value of the small animals in it is too small to make it worthwhile crushing it to get it.
Two degrees Celsius of warming doesn't seem very much, however if the earth warms by two degrees:The glaciers will disappear from GreenlandPolar bears will struggle to survive as so much ice has meltedInsects move with the climate. Pine bark beetles will move north and kill off the white bark forests in the USA that provide the grizzly bear with foodNew forests will spring up in the melting tundra of Canada and all the methane released will add to the greenhouse gases and to the warming.Pacific islands like Tuvalu are underwaterMost of the world's tropical coral reefs will be lost.Coral reefs are like the canary in the coal mine, warning us of danger to ocean life.
there is not wind considering coral reefs is underwater
Coral reefs make up less than 1% (around .7% estimated). However, as years pass, that number is decreasing due to global climate change.
none
Marine regions cover about three-fourths of the Earth's surface and include oceans, coral reefs, and estuaries
we have too much CO2 in our atmospherein the future or present, the CO2 is absorbed by the oceanmaking it more acidic killing the coral reefs
i would say that coral is dieing a little piece would be about $15.00 (coral reefs) :)
15,000 tons of pounds

Most of the reef building corals and animals on a reef are dependant on high amounts of sunlight; thus coral reefs are restricted to the tropics where sunlight is abundant. There are deep water sponge reefs in temperate and artic regions, but they are much different from coral reefs.
Under water. Seriously, most any coast in the equatorial region will have coral reefs, or at least areas of coral growth. Some coral is capable of surviving in colder waters, so some coasts further away from the equator also have reefs, but no where near as much.
No. The Bahama are made of limestone, with much of the material coming from old coral reefs.
Seagrass has adapted to living in habitats behind the coral reefs (back reefs) where they trap sediments from overloading coral reefs. Seagrass provides transferable food and oxygen to the coral reefs.
