cost shouldn't matter, as long as you find a gown that looks amazing.
As much as possible. The wedding planner has to no the bride. Otherwise the wedding wont be the bride's and groom's dream wedding, it would be the wedding planner.
Much less than today!
That depends solely on your finances and your heart.
The general guideline is to spend about five percent of the total wedding budget on wedding invitations. Since the average wedding costs around $20000, you should look to spend about $1000 for premium wedding invitations. Make sure the package includes your invitation, response card, directions, reception invite, and all corresponding envelopes.
It is not unusual for brides to spend thousands of dollars on their wedding gown. Fortunately, there are ways to save money on this purchase and find affordable wedding dresses that you love. One way is to search online and in stores for white formal gowns. These white dresses can easily be used as wedding dresses, but because they are not specifically called wedding dresses they often cost much less.

The Empire Gown came out in the heyday of the French Empire as a formal outfit- it was much used by The Empress Eugenie, better known for the headgear that bears her name ( still used, somewhat oddly by Flower Girls- not the Joplin variety!) I do not know when it was adapted to the wedding role. Actress Gina Lollobrigida wore a White Empire wedding gown, very much in the nuptial style- in the movie Come, September along with bulbous matching earrings ( considering her last name, might these be better called counterweights!) That was around l96l. There are beautiful head shots of her (8Xl0) in this gown basically focused on her face- it is an Empire type gown adapted to the marital role.
