Depends on the year and denomination of the coin. For coins intended for circulation:
Dimes, Half-Dollars, Quarters and Dollars dated 1964 and prior are 90% silver
Half-Dollars dated 1965-1970 are 40% silver
Nickels dated 1942-1945 AND have a large mintmark over the Monticello (either a P, D or S) are 35% silver
If you have a US silver dollar with a date of 1906, I'm sorry, you have a counterfeit coin. The US Silver dollar was not minted in 1906. Some of these are actually silver coins, and may have a value for the weight of silver they contain, but they are not collector's coins.
The coins are 90% not 93% silver. The coins weigh 2.5 grams.
The US Mint did not issue any silver coins of any kind in 1980. If you have silver coins dated 1980, they are not US coins.
August 24, 2009 1400 grams of silver coins are worth $571.60.
The 2012 American Silver Eagles coins are one ounce of pure silver.
Silver is a type of metal. It is used for jewelry, utensils, coins, and much, much more!
From 1794 to 1935, US silver dollar coins were made of an alloy of 90% silver and 10% copper. The last circulating silver $1 coins were made in 1935, although others have been struck since then either as experimental pieces or as special coins minted for sale to collectors and investors. Popular myth and Internet rumors to the contrary, modern $1 coins have no silver at all. Those minted from 1971 to 1981 and in 1999 are copper-nickel. The new "golden" dollars are actually brass.
Each denomination of US silver coins has different amounts of silver, so it's not possible to answer this question. Be more specific and post new question with the dates of the coins.

Coins are not usually silver these days. Since the 1960s they have been made of copper and nickel. Silver coins from before 1965 in the US were 90% silver. Foreign countries have used anything from 40% to 92.5% silver in their coins, but to my knowledge, no one has used pure (100%) silver in currency.
Now its 100 coins and silver is worth 200 coins.
