On average, snow falls on eleven days per year, with three days receiving 6 cm (2.4 in) or more. Average yearly snowfall is 48.2 cm (19.0 in) but typically does not remain on the ground for long.
Yup, it certainly does! The only debate is really just when. And when it is snow season, it usually lasts for 6-8 months. This past year, the snow did not completely melt for good until late mid-April. Snow is usually an average of 2-10 cm throughout the season.
We've also had hail at the end of June before.
...If you are talking about the 2010 year that is not accurate at all. I go out Mountain Biking north of Pickering in the deep woods and there wasn't any snow in April at all.
No, I assure you it is. I've lived in Toronto for pretty much my whole life, and I know for a fact that the snow had not subsided even in April during the 2010 year. It is rather extreme of you to say "not accurate at all" when you are located in Pickering, and not the City of Toronto. There are such things as snow belts spread throughout the entire region that comprises the City of Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Perhaps you have been lucky enough to experience the part that does not comprise the snow belt.
I lived in Vancouver for 12 years and I guess theres a bit. Big snow storm condition happen ever 3-4 years usually, although the last 3 years we have been getting a lot of snow in the winter. Does last to long, and there is definitely more rain in the winter then snow. No snow winters are just wet and cold. Sometime low around 25 degrees.
yes, just not as much as the rest of the country and it usually doesnt stay very long but yes it does snow
No. Technically that isn't correct, but it is very rare and when it does snow it usually melts within a few hours. Victoria, BC has the mildest winters of any Canadian city.
